This big blue ring has a lapis stone set in 18K bezel. The band pulls from a deco era. Lapis Lazuli has long been prized for is intense blue color. It been found in as a stone in neolithic burials through the middle ages when is was ground to make the most expensive of blue pigments. Vermeer’s paining “Girl with a Pearl Earring” was painted using the pigment made from lapis lazuli. Lapis is also the stone used on the face mask of Tutankamun. 18th century French courts used lapis to convey the sentiment of “luck” or “love”. Two of these rings are available (NOW) as shown. One is size 6.5 and the other is size 7 1/4. Custom sizes can be made to order.
